The Purpose of the Project
Transformative College Heritage and Landmarks Project provides people with effective learning opportunities by creating places and environment to inspire partnership built on collaboration and partnership working with others. Our framework is inclusive process of active engagement through lived experiences. Facilitating what people need to learn to make sense of their world that they live in.

The learning process identifies -

The skills, knowledge and understanding of social awareness of their communities heritage and iconic landmarks around Mullingar that influence values, beliefs, ideas and opinions of its times

Learning that leads to transformative changes within the participating team, stimulate motivation to and desire to learn more, get involved and be part of a bigger community of knowledge

This project creates a shared approach that is supportive of teamwork, personal and professional development and openness to exploring new ideas and realities

Recognises leadership’s skills in qualified researcher and tour guides who will support others to develop the skills required for the project success
About the Project
The project outcomes will –

Provide opportunities for more people and young people to engage in learning about their heritage and landmarks in Mullingar

Increase opportunities in growth in tourism, hotel packages to include the landmarks of Mullingar as never experienced before

Create greater awareness of how our heritage can support our community to develop both socially and economically for business promotion or a place to live

Contribute to the up-skilling, and inclusion of people with mental health challenges in their recovery journey

Encourage participants on the project to engage in partnership with other organisations, agencies and community groups and create greater social capital

Develop a legacy of shared resources and creations for future activities in our community

Reflect the heritage and diversity of times past and contemporary Mullingar
